Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundation Stage comprises of Little Angels Pre-School, led by Pre-School supervisor Mrs Philippa Manton, and the Reception Year, led by teacher Miss Holt.  Our teaching assistant is Mrs Maria Grierson, who works primarily with Reception age children.

During the mornings the Reception Year and Pre-School children work separately on their own play and focussed learning tasks. In the mornings Reception Year have teacher led literacy, phonics and mathematics sessions.

In the afternoon Pre-School and the Reception Year play and learn together on creative and topic based activities. We work on a common topic across the Foundation stage which changes each half term.

We are fortunate to have several outdoors areas we can all utilise for outdoor play and learning. Outdoor play is a fundamental feature of our learning.
